A golden celebration
Sister Carol Fleitz, SNJM, was honored at St. Joseph Basilica during Mass on July 23, in celebration of her Golden Jubilee. She is an active member of the parish, serving on the RCIA team and on the Pastoral Council. The parish took the opportunity of her jubilee to invite all women religious to attend the 11:30 a.m. Mass to be honored for their dedication and service. Several orders were represented. Sister Carol shared her vocation story; parishioners loved hearing that one of her mentors in her path to religious life was her seventh-grade teacher, Sister Barbara Williams, who was a beloved member of the parish for many years. Sister Carol renewed her vows in front of the assembly. All the Sisters were invited forward to share briefly about their current ministry, before receiving a blessing. After Mass everyone gathered for a visit over cake, before the Sisters enjoyed lunch in the rectory with the clergy.
