Lenten SPIRITUALITY

Lent is a period of prayer, fasting, repentance and almsgiving in preparation for Christ's resurrection. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, which is March 1 this year.

Wednesday, March 1
Ash Wednesday Day of Renewal. 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. or Evening of Renewal, 6 to 8 p.m. at San Damiano Retreat, 710 Highland Drive, Danville. Cost for day retreat is $40 and includes lunch. Ash Wednesday Day of Reflection — Moving Beyond Borders. 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Maryknoll Mission House, 16642 Ashland Ave., San Lorenzo. Hospitality begins at 9:30 a.m. The day will start with prayer and distribution of ashes in the chapel and will be followed by guided meditations, reflections and sharing.
