God bless us, every one
Thanksgiving came early at St. Charles Borromeo parish in Livermore, when 45 fourth- and fifth-grade pupils in the parish faith formation program hosted a Thanksgiving dinner feast for 85 seniors on Nov. 13. The students' parents cooked their family favorites and set up a buffet. Guests who had trouble walking were asked what they would like and were served. The children made placemats, table decorations and decorated the hall. Games were played before dinner. After dinner, the children escorted those with walkers to their transportation. Some residents from a senior home said the feast reminded them of family dinners they used to prepare. The pupils put their lessons — they have been studying the Corporal Works of Mercy and the life of St. Teresa of Kolkata — in action.
