Dorothy Day's granddaughter
to speak at Berkeley parish

Martha Hennessy, a granddaughter of Dorothy Day, founder of the Catholic Worker movement, will speak at Newman Hall/Holy Spirit Parish in Berkeley Oct. 28.

"Dorothy Day: A Radical Catholic for Our Times" is the title of her talk, scheduled from 7 to 9 p.m. in the chapel, which will be presented by the Newman Nonviolent Peacemaking Group and the Father Bill O'Donnell Social Justice Committee.

The two longtime activist groups are joined by the Student Ministry Service Team, which will show the documentary, "Dorothy Day: Don't Call Me a Saint," at 7 p.m. Oct. 10 at the chapel.
