St. Vincent de Paul hosts job fair

Looking for a job? Bay Area employers seeking workers for customer service, hospitality, food service, janitorial, security, warehouse and office positions will be out in force at St. Vincent de Paul Alameda County's Job and Resource Fair, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 24.

The event, which will also feature employment resources, will take place in St. Vincent de Paul's Community Center at 2272 San Pablo Ave., Oakland.

Melaine Diegel, director of community relations and marketing for St. Vincent de Paul, has this advice for job seekers: Dress professionally and bring lots of copies of your resume.

For help in preparing that resume, St. Vincent de Paul is offering a free resume workshop from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 18. Pre-registration is required for the workshop. For questions or to register for the resume workshop, contact 510-877-9212 or jobtraining@svdp-alameda.org.

Registration is not required for the job fair.
