Concert passes fire of faith to youth
Sundown Praise, a summer concert to sing praise to God and deepen their faith will bring together youth from throughout the diocese. The concert will be at 8 p.m. Aug. 1 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 703 C St., Union City. Internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Jesse Manibusan is the featured performer. Also on the ticket is recording artist Amanda Vernon with All Saints Unplugged. Tickets are available online at Eventbrite.com/d/local/sundown-praise; $7 in advance, children $5. Tickets at the door are $10. Refreshments will be on sale and there'll be an opportunity to win a free concert by Manibusan.

"The Feast of Our Lady of the Angels: The Portiuncula," 2 to 6 p.m. at San Damiano Retreat, 710 Highland Drive, Danville. Presider: Rev. Vince Mesi, OFM. This Franciscan feast gets its name from the Latin word "portiuncula" meaning little portion, in honor of the little church restored by St. Francis. Also known as the Feast of the Great Pardon, we will celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation and end the day with a festive Mass followed by a reception. "The Feast of St. Clare of Assisi" at San Damiano Retreat in Danville with Rev. Vince Mesi, OFM.
