New science classroom
St. Leander School celebrated the completion of a $150,000 renovation of its middle school science classroom. Outgoing pastor of St. Leander Parish Rev. Paul R. Vassar, offered a special blessing at a reception on May 24, joined by parishioners, friends, family members, school board members, students and faculty. As a surprise to Father Vassar, School Board President Timothy Chasteen unveiled a plaque honoring donors to the "Rev. Paul R. Vassar Science Classroom." The classroom was named in honor of Father Vassar's tremendous support of the project and of the school over his 11 years as pastor.
