Every Tuesday

St. Jerome Seniors in El Cerrito. 1 to 5 p.m. in Rohan Hall, which is beneath the church, 308 Carmel Ave., El Cerrito. A gathering of many talented knitters and other crafts people. Originally, the crafts group started as a fundraiser. Often items created by the crafters and artists continued to be sold in parish fundraisers. Mary, 510-236-2928.

St. Leo the Great Senior Activities Center. 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at 171 Ridgeway Ave., Oakland. Free classes, special programs, low-cost lunches, community resources. 510-654-6177.

Saturday, April 22

Disaster Preparedness for Seniors: 4 Useful Steps, Victoria Perez, CARD (Collaborating Agencies Responding to Disaster), will discuss at 10 a.m. how seniors can be prepared for a crisis with a few valuable resources close at hand. She will lead us in creating a "Skip Kit' — a zip top bag filled with 10 items each with multiple, creative, uses in a crisis. Supplies provided. Age of Grace and Wisdom Potluck Luncheons. Third Wednesdays January through October at St. Charles Borromeo Parish, 1315 Lomitas Ave., Livermore. No charge — just bring a dish to share. Subject to change, contact parish office, 925-447-4549, ext.115.

April 17, May 15, June 19

The Classic Club Pot Luck Dinners. Third Friday at 5:45 p.m. except July and August in the Ministry Center at St. Isidore Parish, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville. Occasionally there is Bingo, trivia and always good food and camaraderie. Plan to bring an appetizer, salad, entrée (pre-cooked) or a dessert to share. $3 each at the door covers paper goods and beverages. Questions, call Rosalia at 925-837-9486.

Lunch and Bingo. Every third Monday at St. Anthony Parish, 971 O'Hara Ave., Oakley. Most start arriving at 11:30 a.m. Lunch followed by Bingo. There is no charge. The program includes occasional bus trips. 925-625-2048.

Rev. Louis Vitale, OFM, a Franciscan priest, and activist, has engaged in civil disobedience for nearly four decades in pursuit of peace and justice, and has been arrested more than 400 times, will speak on activism and social justice at 2 p.m. Mercy Retirement & Care Center, 3431 Foothill Blvd., Oakland.
