Lake County Outdoor Passion Play

The 35th consecutive presentation of the Lake County Outdoor Passion Play will be at 4 p.m. May 16 and 17. The two-hour drama involves about 150 performers portraying the last days of Christ's life on earth on a massive 85-acre outdoor setting on the shores of Clear Lake, the largest natural lake in California. The site is about a two-hour drive from the East Bay. The Passion Play Grounds are located at 7010 Westlake Road, Upper Lake, (off Highway 29, about 7 miles north of Lakeport in Lake County).

Admission is free, but donations are gratefully accepted. Bring your own chair. No smoking, food, drinks or pets are allowed on the grounds. Fresh spring water is available. Details: http://lakecountypassionplay.org.

Church of the Good Shepherd

The Youth Ministry of the Church of the Good Shepherd, 3200 Harbor St., Pittsburg, presents its 23rd play, "The Passion of our Lord Jesus Christ." This is the Youth Ministry's largest project each year and involves the participation of more than 75 youth and adult leaders. For more information, contact Debbie Lawson at 925-432-6404, ext. 11.

March 28, 7 p.m. (after 5:30 p.m. liturgy)
March 29, 1:30 p.m. (after noon liturgy)
April 1, 6:30 p.m.
April 3, 7:30 p.m.



Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Couples for Christ Ministry and La Pieta International Prayer Group host a live Lenten Passion Play on March 28 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Center, 40382 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, that highlights the suffering of Our Lord Jesus Christ and the sorrow of the Blessed Virgin Mary. The night starts with informal dining (meal provided) at 6 p.m. and fellowship; food will not be served after 7 p.m. Due to the solemnness of this play, only those 18 years and older are encouraged to attend. St. Agnes

The final performance of Way of the Cross, a multimedia presentation of the Passion and Death of the Lord, presented by The Mystery Players of Salesian College Preparatory in Richmond, will be at 7 p.m. March 27 at St. Agnes Parish, 3966 Chestnut Ave, Concord. The Mystery Players are made up of 24 teens and two adults. Information: salesian.com.
