Cemetery prayers

After the groundbreaking ceremonies for the new Pastoral Center, Most Rev. Joseph Vu Van Thien, bishop of Hai Phong (with Father Mockel, above), invited a few of us to walk across the street to the cemetery. There we stood behind a stone altar to say a prayer for the repose of the souls of clergy who had served the Diocese of Haiphong in years gone by (left). Each All Souls Day people gather at the site to celebrate Mass.
