Vietnamese martyrs honored
About 1,000 people celebrated the 26-year anniversary of the Vietnamese martyrs' canonization on Nov. 23 at St. Anthony Parish in Oakland. Bishop Michael C. Barber, SJ, bottom left, next to a reliquary of the martyrs, was joined by Bishop Emeritus John S. Cummins and 17 other priests and members and friends of the Vietnamese Community of the Diocese of Oakland. Before the Mass, bottom right, a skit was performed by the Vietnamese youth group from St. Felicitas, followed by the procession around the church, above. A reception, lunch and entertainment followed the Mass.
