Rev. Msgr. Raymond G. Breton, JCL, former chancellor and judicial vicar of the Diocese of Oakland, died early on Nov. 2, All Souls' Day, after a long illness. He was 72.

Monsignor Breton served the diocese from 1983 until he retired in 2012.

He served in many parishes and capacities in the diocese. Services were scheduled for Nov. 7.
