Oct. 31 to Nov. 2
Vocation retreat: The Franciscan friars of the Province of Saint Barbara are hosting a vocation retreat in the Bay Area for men ages 21 to 45 interested in religious life as a Franciscan brother or priest. Contact Brother Eric Pilarcik, OFM at vocations@sbfranciscans.org or 408-903-3422.

Nov. 7 to 9
Religious Life Discernment Retreat (for single Catholic women college to 40) with the Dominican Sisters of Mission San Jose, 43326 Mission Blvd., Fremont (entrance on Mission Tierra Place). Saturday, Nov. 8
"The Power of Grace" at San Damiano Retreat in Danville with David Richo. Learn ways to open to grace, find an opportunity for psychological growth and spiritual awakening both in life events and in relationships. Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the day goes from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Cost is $85 (or $105 for those wanting CEU's) and includes lunch. Music of Hildegard of Birgen. 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Santa Sabina Center, 25 Magnolia Ave., San Rafael. Devi Mathieu will lead the singing of music of Hildegard. Suggested donations: $10 to $20. No previous experience with the music of Hildegard or with medieval music.

Nov. 21 to 23
Grief retreat at San Damiano Retreat in Danville with Rev. Padraig Greene. Give yourself the gift of a weekend away with your grief in the presence of people who understand, as you cherish the memories through prayer, writing, reflection, music and ritual. Registration is from 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Friday and retreat ends on Sunday with lunch. Cost is $225 for private room and $195 for shared. Saturday, Nov. 22
Grief retreat in Spanish. 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mercy Center, 2300 Adeline St., Burlingame. $25 cost includes lunch. Bring a photo of your loved one to place on the altar of mementos. Divine Mercy Ministry Advent Retreat. A weekend-long retreat hosted by Jesse Romero, Catholic author, radio host and evangelist.
