County honors St. Philip Neri teacher

The Alameda County Science and Engineering Fair Board of Directors honored Bill Frank of St. Philip Neri School in Alameda as the Middle School Teacher of the Year. Frank, who has taught for 15 years at the school, was honored for his commitment to his students and to science, his ability to motivate students and his special efforts to advance his students' research.

Frank received numerous student nominations and several times his students described him as inspirational, fun, intelligent and tall. Both middle and high school teachers are honored by ACSEF as Teachers of the Year.

Several St. Philip Neri students who were under Frank's guidance were also honored for their academic achievement in science at the Alameda County Science Fair:

Cassie Weigel, first place, Physical Science; Annemarie McGreehan, third place, Behavioral Science; Zavier Annis, honorable mention, Behavioral Science; Michael Schmidt, honorable mention, Alternative Energies; Haley Graybeal, honorable mention, Physical Science; and Stacey Rice, honorable mention, Chemistry.
