Golden jubilee at OLG
Attendees in the main hallway of Our Lady of Guadalupe School take a stroll down "Memory Lane," as the school (formerly St. Leonard's), 40374 Fremont Blvd., Fremont, celebrated its 50th anniversary on Sept. 6. More than 500 people attended, enjoying food from parent volunteers and a special Mass featuring a Call to Prayer and a homily by Bishop Emeritus John S. Cummins, who said afterward, "… the evening was just so great, the community was so good, cohesive and everybody so involved at a leisurely pace. I thought it was splendid. What a wonderful community."
