'Passionately Catholic' Franciscan University

Franciscan University, a Catholic liberal arts school, integrates strong academic programs and a lively faith environment, educating and forming men and women of hope to be a transforming presence in the Church and the world.

This attractive combination draws more than 2,400 students from all 50 states and 15 foreign countries. Students choose from more than 40 undergraduates and eight graduate programs. Theology, catechetics, nursing, education and business administration are among the most popular majors.

The university's top-notch science programs are housed in a modern 43,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art science facility. A new program added in fall 2013 is a cooperative Pre-Engineering program with University of Notre Dame (Indiana), University of Dayton (Ohio) and Gannon University (Pennsylvania).

Those who love travel love Franciscan University's study abroad program in Gaming, Austria, where students study and live in a restored medieval monastery, nestled in the foothills of the Austrian Alps.

Franciscan University was named one of Forbes' America's Top Colleges of 2014. It is also one of 21 "faithfully Catholic universities" cited by the Cardinal Newman Society. It follows the example of St. Francis of Assisi in finding its identity at the heart of the Catholic Church. It embraces the teachings of Sacred Scripture, Sacred Tradition and the Magisterium with a spirit of Christian humanism that relates all learning to Jesus Christ.
