Visit with Archbishop Brunett
Merlie Pablico and Lu Bradford of the Oakland diocese visited with Archbishop Alex J. Brunett in early June in Seattle, reporting a great conversation and good humor. Archbishop Brunett served as apostolic administrator of the Oakland diocese during part of 2012 and 2013. He suffered a stroke in September. Pablico and Bradford joined the retired archbishop, with his caregiver, Dan Henderson, standing, above. She reports the archbishop is walking with a walker, and looks forward to visits from people in the Oakland diocese. "His memory is perfect," she said, he is alone in the evening and at night and says Mass in his room. Pablico is a lector and choir member at the Cathedral of Christ the Light.
