Music concert benefits St. Joseph

Patrick Landeza

Award-winning Hawaiian slack key guitarist Patrick Landeza will celebrate the release of his newest recording — "I Call Your Name," his first collection of religious music — at a May 17 benefit concert at Mission San Jose in Fremont.

The concert will benefit Mission San Jose and St. Joseph School, where Landeza teaches middle school. Joining him on stage will be Jon Manongdo, who is the director of youth ministry at St. Joseph Parish, and Neil Sugay, who teaches middle school math and science at the school.

"I Call Your Name" represents more than 10 years of songwriting by Landeza, who has also served in campus ministry in high schools. He collaborated with his longtime friend Adrian Fulay, campus minister at Salesian High School in Richmond.

Tickets for the Mission San Jose concert are available through St. Joseph School, at 510-656-6525. Prices are $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $45 for a meet-and-greet pre-show reception and reserved seats. The mission is at 43000 Mission Blvd., Fremont.
