Moreau honors slain BART sergeant
Moreau Catholic High School students, faculty and staff lined Mission Boulevard, in front of the Hayward school, and solemnly held signs to honor BART Sgt. Tom Smith (Moreau Class of '89) and support his family as Sgt. Smith's funeral procession passed by on Jan. 29. Members of the Campus Ministry Team, among other students, spent time in reflection while creating the signs. The veteran officer was shot and killed by another BART officer on Jan. 21 in Dublin.
