Seminarians become deacons
Three seminarians from the Diocese of Oakland were ordained to the transitional diaconate Nov. 9 to a full house at St. Pius Church in Redwood City. They are, from left, Joseph Tuan Ahn Le, Alberto Aguayo Pérez and Michael Nghia Pham. They were ordained by San Jose Bishop Patrick J. McGrath. There were four candidates from the Archdiocese of San Francisco, one from the Diocese of Sacramento and two from the Diocese of San Jose. The transitional diaconate brings them one step closer to ordination to the priesthood, which is scheduled for May 23 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light.
