Advent Lecture Series. (Monday's in the season of Advent from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.) In the Stack Center at Our Lady of Grace Parish, 3433 Somerset, Castro Valley. Rev. Gregory Heidenblut, OSA, will continue his annual lecture series during the Season of Advent with a challenging and informative discussion of Mary's role in the history of salvation. This series focuses on the myths and realities associated with Mary the mother of Jesus. Is Mary's role and importance overstated in the Latin and Orthodox traditions? Or do we need to reclaim her importance and status in the history of salvation? Nov. 18–Dogma 1: Theotokos/Mother of God. Why must Mary be the Mother of God? Do Catholics worship Mary?
