Sister Mary Noel Lehmann, SHF

Sister Mary Noel Lehmann, SHF

Sister Mary Noel Lehmann, a member of the Sisters of the Holy Family in Fremont for 67 years, died Oct. 14 at her congregation's Motherhouse in Fremont. She was 87.

A native of Newport, Rhode Island, Sister Mary Noel served as a religious educator teacher/coordinator, which took her to Texas, Hawaii and parishes throughout California. She was also a secretary and office manager at Concord House in Concord and Alexis Apartments in San Francisco.

Sister Mary Noel spent many years in community ministry in San Jose and Mission San Jose in Fremont. Most recently her ministry became one of presence and prayer at the Motherhouse.

Her funeral Mass was held Oct. 17 in the Motherhouse chapel. Burial took place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Colma.
