Cemeteries' remembrances on All Souls Day

All Souls Day Masses will be celebrated at the Catholic cemeteries in the Diocese of Oakland at 11 a.m. Nov. 2. A Dia de los Muertos celebration will follow the Mass, with music and refreshments.

In addition, the Vigil of Light will begin at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland; St. Joseph Cemetery in San Pablo; Holy Sepulchre Cemetery in Hayward; and Holy Cross Cemetery in Antioch. Prayer and the lighting of candles will be followed by light refreshments at these locations.

Some cemeteries will remain open until 8:30 p.m. on All Souls Day. For additional information, or to order a candle to be placed at the gravesite, dial 800-498-4989 or visit www.cfcsoakland.org/asd. The cost per candle is $5.
