Birthright fundraiser
A barbecue fundraiser to support Birthright of San Lorenzo, sponsored by the Italian Catholic Federation at St. Philip Neri in Alameda July 28, was attended by about 75 members and Rev. Robert Kennady Chinnapan, MF. Birthright is a nonprofit crisis pregnancy center that helps women find the necessary resources to bring their babies to term. It is free and confidential. Blankets, diapers and $455 were given to Birthright, while volunteers Theresa Fuller, Marsha Bacon and Cathy Clements offered information about the purpose of Birthright and the need for help. Birthright volunteer Sister Carol Ann and Birthright board members Tom Clements, Carmel Mazuri and Bill Fuller attended on behalf of Birthright. Birthright of San Lorenzo is at 1048 Grant Ave. and can be reached at 510-481-9677 or at birthrightofsanlorenzo.com.
