At 7 p.m., Solemn Vespers will be celebrated, with the Most Rev. Alex J. Brunett, apostolic administrator of the Diocese of Oakland, presiding. During this evening prayer service, Bishop-elect Barber will take the Profession of Faith and the Oath of Loyalty to the Holy See as required before his ordination, and will be greeted by representatives of the various communities, organizations and institutions from throughout the diocese.

There will be music and refreshments on the Plaza after the Mass.

The event may be viewed live at www.oakdiocese.org. Contact your parish directly if you are interested in attending. A limited number of passes may be available the day of the event on-site on a first-come, first-served basis.

Sunday, May 26

At 10 a.m., Bishop Barber will celebrate a Mass of Thanksgiving during the regularly scheduled Sunday Cathedral Stational Mass.

This event is open to all who wish to attend.
