Msgr. Kraus will lead Holy Land pilgrimage

Msgr. Ted Kraus of Santa Maria Parish in Orinda together with Rev. Tom Bonacci, CP, will lead a tour of the Holy Land Nov. 5-17.

"We are booked in the best hotels; have secured outstanding Israeli and Jordanian guides," Msgr. Kraus said. "Despite the conflict and tension, the holy and historical sites of the Holy Land continue to attract incredible numbers of pilgrims and interested visitors. It remains a surprisingly safe place to visit and a very meaningful one." This year is also the 65th anniversary of the founding of the state of Israel.

Msgr. Kraus said the pilgrimage tour is an appropriate response to the Year of Faith, offering a way to follow in the footsteps of Jesus, to identify closer with His words and actions and to rediscover the roots of our Catholic faith. Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI proclaimed the Year of Faith (Oct. 11, 2012 to Nov. 23) as a time for Catholics to renew their knowledge and commitment in love and service to Jesus Christ and to His Church.

For more information about the pilgrimage, visit www.santamariaorinda.com or dial 925-254-2426, ext. 301.
