Workshop in April
The Diocese of Oakland is offering a workshop entitled "Christian Initiation of Children: A Vision for Raising Disciples." The workshop will be offered in English 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. April 20 at St. Michael Parish (in the convent) in Livermore and 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. April 25 at St. Joseph Basilica (in the Parish Center) in Alameda. It will be offered in Spanish 5:30 to 9:30 p. m. April 22 at Queen of All Saints in Concord and April 23 at St. Louis Bertrand in Oakland. The first 30 minutes are registration and hospitality; program starts at 9 a.m. or 6 p.m.
This is the fourth in a series of workshops on the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, designed for parish staff members and RCIA teams — and in this case, directors of religious education — to offer formation and assistance for those responsible for preparing adults and youth for baptism or reception into full communion of the Catholic Church.
An RCIA Binder is provided to all participants; returning participants should bring their binders for new materials. Hospitality will be provided. A $5 registration fee is payable at the door. Advance registration is requested. To register go to www.oakdiocese.org/registration. For additional information, contact Samuel Vásquez at 510-267-8394 or email@example.com.
