SPRED the Word
At the end of the silver anniversary SPRED — Special Religious Education — Catechist Reflection Weekend, catechists gather around Franciscan Father Ray Bucher at the San Damiano Retreat Center. Supporters of SPRED, which integrates people with development disabilities into the faith and life of the church, will gather at St. Felicitas Church for Mass at 4:30 p.m. April 13, followed by dinner and dancing in the parish hall. St. Felicitas is at 1662 Manor Blvd., San Leandro. Reservations should be made by April 6. Tickets are $30 for adults, $12 for children, or $285 for a table for 10. FACE (Family Aid - Catholic Education) Annual Spring Gala and Auction. At Scott's Seafood Grill, 2 Broadway, Jack London Square, Oakland. FACE raises funds for tuition assistance for Catholic school students in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. 5:30 p.m. hosted cocktail reception and silent auction, followed at 7:30 p.m. by dinner and student speakers. Live auction begins at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $150; $1800 for a table of eight. In the current school year, 549 students received financial aid from FACE. Catholic Charities of the East Bay at Diablo Country Club, 1700 Clubhouse Road, Diablo. A full day of activities from High Tea to Golf and Bocce play – a field day to support Catholic Charities at multiple levels and meet other supporters at the private Diablo Country Club.

The 29th Annual Golf Classic. A great day of golf, tee prizes, lunch, games, cocktail hour and awards dinner at $250 per golfer or $125 for the dinner only. There will be our successful raffle that offers week stays, overnight packages, golf, wine and so much more at $100 a ticket and limited to only 150 tickets most are sure to be close to a winner. 2013 Monsignor John T. McCracken Award For Outstanding Bay Area Catholic Women. The McCracken Award for Outstanding Bay Area Catholic Women will be honoring Kathleen Balousek, founder of Enduring Needs Programs Critical Social Needs and Engaging Others with her leadership and energy and imagination. Pat Elam, Chair and Dick Callahan will emcee. Tickets are $50 per person from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. this will be a High Tea – sponsorships are also available.

Escape to Capri "Bocce" play. Each person's grief journey has its own path and its own timeline. These will be explored in this eight-week series of workshops. Pre-registration is suggested. Space is limited.
