Honoring Our
Lady of Guadalupe

Bishop Cordileone walked in every pilgrimage and was the lead celebrant at each Mass at the annual Our Lady of Guadalupe ceremonies in December. Thousands participate each year in the 7.5-mile procession from St. Louis Bertrand Church to the Cathedral of Christ the Light.

New Catholics
In June 2010, Bishop Cordileone presided at the First Neophyte Mass celebrated in the Cathedral of Christ the Light. More than 60 newly baptized and others who completed the sacraments of initiation attended, as well as sponsors and guests.

India Pilgrimage
In January 2012, Bishop Cordileone went on a 17-day pilgrimage to India, escorted by numerous priests of the diocese who are India natives — he's with Rev. George Alengaden, SDB, above. In a journal the bishop kept of his trip published online at www.catholic
, he wrote: "I came to India with intense curiosity … This is a country of unending fascination, and given its ancient, deep, broad and diverse spiritual and cultural heritage, I don't believe that even a lifetime dedicated to studying it would exhaust all of the riches it has to offer."
