Challenge grant for seminarian education

The Oakland diocese has been blessed with an increasing number of seminarians preparing for the priesthood. This blessing brings with it the obligation of paying for their seminary education, at a cost of about $28,000 a year.

The Seminarian Education Fund was established in 2010 to provide opportunities for parishioners to make a personal contribution. Donations can be made with a personal check, an automatic bank withdrawal, a donation of stock or an estate donation.

A generous donor is providing a matching commitment of $28,000 to the Seminarian Education Fund. Any funds contributed from now to July 15 will be matched dollar for dollar, up to $28,000. This is an incredible way to double your contribution to the education of a future priest.

Please make your donation payable to Seminarian Education Fund, c/o Financial Services, 2121 Harrison St., Oakland 94612. More information and an informational brochure are available at www.oaklandvocations.org.
