New era, new challenges
Peter Steinfels, co-director of the Center on Religion and Culture at Fordham University in New York, will speak at 7:30 p.m. March 7 at Holy Spirit/Newman Hall, 2700 Dwight Way in Berkeley. The topic of his talk is “What Catholicism will we choose for the 21st Century?” The Chicago native, who has taught at Georgetown and Notre Dame universities, is a former editor of Commonweal Magazine and religion editor for The New York Times.
