A spirited tradition
Installations and altars or ofrendas by 10 artists and local school and community groups will be featured during the 16th Annual Community Celebration for the Days of the Dead on Oct. 23 from noon to 4:30 p.m. at the Oakland Museum of California, 1000 Oak St. in Oakland. The community celebration, based on the Dia de los Muertos holiday in Mexico, will include dance, music, and demonstrations of traditional Meso-American arts and foods. General museum admission includes the community celebration and the “Vivo: Days of the Dead” exhibition. Information: http://museumca.org.
