Conference at St. Mary’s will highlight
opportunities for study-abroad students

Area college students and international students who have successfully completed a study, internship or work program in a foreign country are invited to attend a conference at St. Mary’s College in Moraga on how students’ study-abroad experiences can lead to further academic and career options.

“Lessons from Abroad” will be held Saturday, March 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the college’s Soda Activities Center. It will include presentations, panel discussions and workshops. Claudia Zysk, a cross-cultural trainer for managers of international corporations, will be the keynote speaker.

International students and foreign-study alumni will be on hand to share their experiences, and an “Opportunities Fair” component will allow participants to network with representatives from a variety of educational and service organizations that have an international focus. Workshops will cover helpful topics such as international volunteerism, service learning, graduate education, career options, resume building and interviewing skills.

Registration fee of $15 ($10 until Feb. 26) includes conference materials, parking and lunch. Registration desk opens at 9 a.m. on the day of the conference. For advance registration or information, e-mail lessonsfromabroad@gmail.com or contact the study-abroad coordinator at your college or university.
