Concert for Haiti Relief
Choral music soared in Oakland’s Cathedral of Christ the Light, Jan. 24, in a benefit concert that raised more than $27,000 for Catholic Relief Services work with victims of a devastating earthquake in Haiti, Jan. 12. Performing were the International Orange Chorale (above), Mezzo Soprano Frederica von Stade (right), the San Francisco Opera Chorus (below), and the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Boys Chorus (bottom) along with Mezzo Soprano Zheng Cao and Rudy de Vos, cathedral music director. The concert was sponsored by the San Francisco Boys Chorus in partnership with the Oakland Diocese and the cathedral.
