Concert
for Haiti Relief
Choral music soared in Oakland’s Cathedral of
Christ the Light, Jan. 24, in a benefit concert that raised more than
$27,000 for Catholic Relief Services work with victims of a devastating
earthquake in Haiti, Jan. 12. Performing were the International Orange Chorale (above),
Mezzo Soprano Frederica von Stade (right),
the San Francisco Opera Chorus (below),
and the Grammy Award-winning San Francisco Boys Chorus (bottom) along with Mezzo Soprano
Zheng Cao and Rudy de Vos, cathedral music director. The concert was
sponsored by the San Francisco Boys Chorus in partnership with the
Oakland Diocese and the cathedral.
