St. Bernard students move
to St. Jarlath School

Jackie Webster, a mother of two students at St. Bernard School in Oakland, talks with some of the school’s students riding the bus to nearby St. Jarlath School, Feb. 1, the first day of shared classes after St. Bernard School temporarily closed because of fiscal problems. Parents and the parish community are raising funds and working to increase enrollment so the school can reopen in August. Sixty-three of the school’s 75 students moved to St. Jarlath. The other students enrolled elsewhere. Webster will accompany the students on the bus each day.
