Singers sought for
cathedral choir

The Cathedral of Christ the Light is currently recruiting members for the cathedral choir, which will sing at the Sunday 10 a.m. Mass as well as liturgies for some holy days. The choir may also be called upon to sing at some diocesan events, said Rudy de Vos, the cathedral’s music director.

The repertoire will focus on the “sacred musical treasures of the Church,” he said, ranging from Gregorian chant, Renaissance polyphony and the Baroque to 20th and 21st century compositions.

De Vos said choir members should have a “love for sacred music of high quality, a dedication to excellence, and a willingness to learn.”

Rehearsals will take place on Thursday evenings. To arrange for an audition, call Rudy de Vos at (510) 496-7227 or e-mail rdevos@oakdiocese.org
