First priest ordained in the new cathedral

ABOVE: Giopre Prado presents himself for ordination to the priesthood, at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. His was the first ordination to priesthood in the new cathedral.
 
AT RIGHT: Oakland Bishop Salvatore Cordileone ordains Giopre Prado, conferring the grace of ministerial priesthood through prayers and the laying on of hands. It was the first time Bishop Cordileone ordained a priest. Standing next to the bishop is Deacon Stephen Taylor. Bishop Emeritus John Cummins also participated in the rite.
