A life in music
A concert exploring the life and music of Felix Mendelssohn and featuring musicians from San Francisco State University will be held at 8 p.m. on May 16 at the Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland. Called “Mendelssohn: The Man and His Music,” the concert is a fundraiser for the Choir of St. Martin de Porres School in Oakland under the sponsorship of famed mezzo-soprano Frederica von Stage, Society of the Sacred Heart Sister Barbara Dawson and Rachel Velen. Suggested donation: $25 adults, $15 seniors/teens.
