Singing the rosary
Liturgical composer and musician Bob Hurd will present his latest work, “A Contemplative Rosary,” at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 40382 Fremont Blvd. in Fremont, on Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. Hurd’s recent CD was inspired by the late Pope John Paul II’s apostolic letter on the rosary and integrates music, Scripture readings, icons, and meditations. A saintly gala
Bob and Penny Lord, longtime personalities on the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN), will conduct a presentation on the lives of the Franciscan saints Sept. 27 at the National Shrine of St. Francis of Assisi, 610 Vallejo St., San Francisco, at 6:30 p.m. The event, which begins at 5 p.m., includes vespers, prayers and songs in the landmark church.
