honor Our Lady of Guadalupe in Oakland procession
More than 1500 Catholics walk along International Blvd. in Oakland, Dec. 6, in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe whose feast is celebrated Dec. 12. The procession, which began at 7 a.m. from St. Bernard Church, included participants from parishes throughout the diocese. The nearly four-hour procession concluded at the Cathedral of Christ the Light. All Photos by Greg Tarczynski
Members of St. Bernard Parish carry banners during the procession. The parish hosted several participants who arrived the previous day from Brentwood so they could finish their float in the early morning.
