J.S. Paluch Co. offers workshops Nov. 13
on various aspects of parish ministry

Experts in the fields of parish business management, stewardship, bulletin effectiveness, initiation, and liturgical music will offer a series of workshops at the new Cathedral of Christ the Light in Oakland on Nov. 13. The workshops are free of charge for all who register by Nov. 5.

The day’s events are sponsored by J.S. Paluch Company, a major publisher of parish bulletins and other publications, and its music and liturgy division, World Library Publications (WLP). Tom Gull, national sales consultant at J.S. Paluch Co. Inc., and Jerry Galipeau, WLP associate publisher, will facilitate the workshops, which begin at 10 a.m.

At his morning workshop, which targets business managers and development directors, Gull will help those in attendance unlock the power and potential of parish census data. In the afternoon Gull will offer tips to parish bulletin editors aimed at transforming the bulletin into a more effective communication and evangelization tool.

Galipeau’s first workshop (for faith formation and RCIA ministers) will focus on how the model of apprenticeship can help transform the lives of catechumens, candidates and those in catechetical formation.

His second workshop will focus on ways to enliven the celebrations of the various rites of the RCIA through music, ritual gesture, preaching, and the use of liturgical space.
At 7 p.m. WLP will present an Autumn Song Fest featuring John Angotti, an internationally acclaimed music missionary. All parish music directors, music ministers, and parishioners who love to sing are invited to attend. Each will receive a free packet of music ministry resources and will be invited to sing a sample of WLP’s traditional and contemporary music.

Registration for the day is required. Contact Jennifer Estevez at J.S. Paluch Co. at (800) 675-5051 or estevezj@jspaluch.com before Nov. 5.
