Sorrow
A woman lights a candle Dec. 10 during
an interfaith service at Oakland’s St. Columba Church held
to remember and pray for the 115 people slain in the city
this year as well as those murdered in years past. Each colored
candle represented one victim.
The gathering was organized by the Oakland /Alameda County Chapter
of Family and Friends of Murder Victims, which meets on the first
Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. at Kaiser Hospital in Oakland.
