Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN) will mark the holiest week of the
year in the Church with special programs that include telecasts of Pope
Benedict XVI offering Holy Week and Easter Masses, leading the Way of
the Cross on Good Friday, and giving his Easter message and blessing.
The Holy Week programming begins with the Solemn Mass of Palm Sunday on
April 1 at 12:30 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Other highlights in the week are the Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper
on April 5 at 8:30 a.m. and 9 p.m.; the Commemoration of the Lord’s
Passion on April 6 at 8 a.m. and 9 p.m.; and the Way of the Cross at the
Roman Colosseum on April 6 at 5 p.m.
The 24-hour Catholic TV network will also broadcast the Pontiff offering
the Easter Vigil Mass on April 7 at 1 p.m. and 9 p.m., and the Easter
Sunday Solemn Mass of the Resurrection on April 8 at 9 a.m.
His “Urbi et Orbi” message and blessing to the world will
air on April 8 at 10:30 a.m.
Additional broadcasts from EWTN include live coverage from the Basilica
of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception in Washington, D.C.
Choral meditations and the Solemn Mass of the Lord’s Supper will
air on April 5 at 2:30 p.m., and the Easter Vigil Mass will be broadcast
on April 7 at 5 p.m.
EWTN is carried on Comcast Digital channel 229; DISH Satellite channel
