Communities offer discernment retreats

Several retreat opportunities are available for individuals who are considering religious life.

Young women are invited to Nazareth House on April 24 for a retreat from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nazareth House is located at 245 Nova Albion Way in San Rafael. Accommodations are available for those who wish to stay overnight. This summer The New Camaldoli Heritage in Big Sur, the Marist Fathers and Brothers in Berkeley, the Prince of Peace Abbey in Oceanside, Holy Trinity Trappist Monastery in Huntsville, Utah, and the famous Gethsemani Abbey in Trappist, KY will be hosting group and individual “live-in experience” vocational retreats for single men.

Available dates include June 1 – 5 and Aug. 3 – 7. Weekend dates are also available. There is no cost for participants, but space is limited. For more information, call toll-free: 1-800-221-1807.

The Carmel of the Holy Spirit Monastery in Littleton, Colorado, and the Carmel of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Monastery in Salt Lake City in Utah will host individual “live-in experience” vocational retreats for women, June 1 – 5.
