Rejoice in song Lift your voices and spirits this Christmas season at the Festival of Lessons and Carols on Dec. 18 at St. Augustine Church, 400 Alcatraz Ave. in Oakland, The service, which begins at 4 p.m., will consist of Scripture selections telling the story of salvation history from Adam and Eve to the birth of Jesus. Interspersed between the readings will be favorite Advent and Christmas carols, some sung by the assembly and some by the diocesan choir of 40 voices accompanied by the LAUDATE orchestra.
