Honoring veterans

Students at De La Salle High School in Concord gather in the school's courtyard, Nov. 11, to honor veterans with a prayer service sponsored by the Lasallian Student Leadership Council. Leading the observance are from left, Eagle Scouts Sam Swasey and Colin Mathews; Matt Harrison, a Marine Corps veteran and De La Salle teacher; and students Mark Bibera and Brian Mendes. Each flag has a tag on it with a veteran's name submitted by a student. Six veterans are on the school staff and at least one alumnus is serving in Iraq.
