Year of the Eucharist

Bishop Allen Vigneron elevates the paten with the consecrated host during a Mass closing the international Year of the Eucharist, Oct. 6 at St. Elizabeth Church in Oakland. The year of Eucharistic devotion was initiated by the late Pope John Paul II and began with a Eucharistic Congress in Mexico.
