Chautauqua XIII is set for Oct. 1

Catholics throughout the Oakland Diocese are invited to attend “Chautauqua – the Gathering of Peoples” on Oct. 1 at St. Raymond Church, 11555 Shannon Ave. in Dublin.

This annual ethnic festival is coordinated by the diocesan office of ethnic and cultural services and this year is dedicated to Mary, the mother of Jesus. The celebration will begin at 10 a.m. with a Marian procession of participants dressed in their ethnic attire, carrying Marian statues, icons and banners.

Following the procession, Bishop Allen Vigneron will celebrate Mass.

At noon, there will be food booths, live entertainment and children’s activities until 4 p.m.
