placeholder Christian Brother dies in Napa bicycle accident

Christian Brother Bradley Flint, a novice with the De La Salle Christian Brothers, died May 28 in Napa as the result of a bicycling accident on Mount Veeder Road, near the community novitiate.

Brother Flint apparently lost control of his bike on a downhill two-lane road during a solo ride and stuck his head against a tree, shattering his helmet.

A member of the New York district of the De La Salle Christian Brothers, Brother Flint, 31, was nearing the completion of his one-year novitiate and about to profess his first vows. His fall teaching assignment was to have been at St. Raymond’s High School in the Bronx, New York.

Funeral services were held June 4 at St. Charles Church in Newport, Michigan. His parents, Marilyn and Michael Flint, and four siblings survive him.
