New priests for diocese

The three candidates for ordination prostrate themselves in front
of the altar at St. Felicitas Church in San Leandro, May 20, as part of the liturgy at which they were ordained priests.

Bishop Vigneron anoints the hands of Glenn Naguit.

The new priests receive the blessing of their fellow priests during the ordination ceremony.

Bishop Emeritus John Cummins congratulates Joseph Nguyen.

Bishop Allen Vigneron lays his hands on Joseph Nguyen before offering the prayer of consecration, ordaining him as a priest.

The newly ordained priests, Joseph Nguyen (left), Clarence Zamora and Glenn Naguit stand before the congregation at the close of the ordination ceremony. They are wearing leis given to them by Father Larry Silva, vicar general of the Oakland Diocese, who will be ordained as Bishop of Honolulu on July 21.

Clarence Zamora pledges obedience to Bishop Vigneron and his successors in the Oakland Diocese.
